CARMEL, IN – Jazz star Diana Krall and comedian Dennis Miller have been added to the schedule of spring events at the Center for the Performing Arts.

Miller, the award-winning talk show host and former Saturday Night Live standout, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Palladium. Tickets start at $35.

Pianist-singer Krall and her band, continuing a world tour in support of the acclaimed album Turn Up the Quiet, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the Palladium. Tickets start at $50.

Since his years as the acerbic anchor of SNL’s “Weekend Update,” Miller has cemented his reputation as a standup comedian, actor, author and television commentator. He earned five Emmy and three Writers Guild of America awards for his talk show, Dennis Miller Live, and also wrote the New York Times bestsellers The Rants, Ranting Again, I Rant, Therefore I Am and The Rant Zone.

Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debut at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. To date, she has received five Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards while earning nine gold, three platinum and seven multiplatinum album designations.

Turn Up the Quiet, featuring interpretations of Great American Songbook classics from the likes of Cole Porter and Johnny Mercer, has been hailed by Mojo magazine as an “elegant, swinging and triumphant return to her jazz roots.” Krall and her combo of bass, drums, guitar and fiddle recently performed selections from the release on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
