Tickets available at Palladium Box Office starting Tuesday, Oct. 31

On the heels of Veterans Day, the Center for the Performing Arts will present a free concert by the U.S. Army Field Band on Nov. 15 at the Palladium.

The mission of the U.S. Army Field Band is to serve and inspire the American people by telling the Army story and honoring our soldiers and veterans at home and abroad as “The Musical Ambassadors of the Army.” The wide-ranging program will include marches, overtures, popular music, patriotic selections and instrumental and vocal solos, including Alan Menken’s music from “Beauty and the Beast” and a special rendition of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” based on the original 1924 orchestration performed by the Paul Whiteman jazz band with Gershwin himself on piano.

This performance will feature the 65-member Concert Band, the oldest of the Field Band’s four performing components, and the 29-member Soldiers’ Chorus, a mixed choral ensemble. Also performing one selection will be a group of student musicians and vocalists from Noblesville High School.

Free tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, and are limited to four per household. Tickets cannot be purchased or reserved online or by phone, but must be obtained in person at the Palladium Box Office, 1 Center Green, Carmel. The Box Office is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Box Office information is available at (317) 843-3800.

The event is sponsored by Huntington Bank and is part of the Center’s 2017-2018 Season sponsored by Allied Solutions.
