Center announces June 16 Encore Celebration

Michael Feinstein will introduce the Songbook Hall of Fame

Carmel -- The Center for the Performing Arts announced today plans for its annual gala. The Encore Celebration is June 16, 2012 and is presented by Krieg DeVault.

“You will be hearing a lot more about the 2012 Encore Celebration in the weeks and months to come, but rest assured it will be the next great celebration at the Center,” said Frank Basile, Interim President/CEO at the Center for the Performing Arts

The June event will feature artistic director Michael Feinstein as he introduces legends of the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame. Feinstein will honor the musical contributions of Barry Manilow, Cole Porter and the songwriting duo of Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

“We are planning a festive, star-studded event,” said Michael Feinstein, artistic director at the Center for the Performing Arts. “The Hall of Fame will introduce an exciting new era for honoring our country’s most notable songwriters and artists. I look forward to sharing their music and celebrating their contributions.”

Guests will be greeted with a red carpet cocktail reception presented by First Merchants Bank, a lavish post-concert dinner with food stations and an open bar throughout the evening. Plans include an after party entertainment lineup and dancing at the Katz, Sapper & Miller After Party. Free valet parking is sponsored by Tom Wood Jaguar.

Limited seating is available via advanced reservations. For details on table reservations, call Laura Varnau at 317-819-3521. Table for 10 is $5,000. Corporate tables are $7,500.

The Center for the Performing Arts, in Carmel City Center, includes the 1,600-seat Palladium concert hall, the Tarkington 500-seat proscenium theater and the 200-seat Studio Theater. The Center is a permanent fixture on the Central Indiana landscape and will provide an extraordinary listening experience for audiences. The concert hall is also home to Michael Feinstein’s Great American Songbook Initiative, acting as a museum and education center by day and a concert venue by night.
